Storefront Translations

Storefront translations let you write alternate versions of your public content for shoppers who use another language. They are useful when you already serve customers in more than one country or want product descriptions to be easier to understand without maintaining separate storefronts. Mayhem stores the wording you provide; it does not automatically translate or rewrite your content.

Open Storefront Settings → Internationalization, choose the storefront's default language, and select every language shoppers should be able to use. The default language is the source for your main content and the fallback whenever a translated field is missing. A translation can stay saved while its language is disabled, but shoppers will not see it until you enable that language again.

To add translated storefront or product copy, look for the language icon beside a supported field, choose a language, enter the translated value, and save it. Storefront titles, descriptions, custom headings, and the main product text can be translated this way. Pages and blog posts use a language menu in their editors so you can switch between the default version and each translated title and body.

Visitors are shown the best available language based on their browser and can change it from the language menu on your storefront. Their choice is remembered as they browse. If you have not translated a particular field, Mayhem shows the default-language text instead, so you can translate the most important pages first and fill in the rest over time. Prices, stock, URLs, access rules, and publication status remain shared across languages.
