Pay What You Want
Pay What You Want lets a shopper choose the price of a one-time product. It works well for tips, donation-style purchases, community releases, and digital products where supporters may want to pay more than the usual price. Your regular product price becomes the suggested amount, so shoppers still have a useful starting point.
In the product editor, set the suggested price on the Basics step. Then open Details, enable Pay What You Want, and add an optional minimum or maximum payment. The suggested price must fall inside those limits. Leave the minimum blank if you are comfortable accepting any amount, including $0, and leave the maximum blank if you do not want to cap larger payments.
On the product page, the shopper enters an amount before adding the item to the cart. That chosen amount is saved with the cart item and used as its base price through checkout; to choose a different amount, the shopper removes the item and adds it again. Payment processors can still enforce their own minimum checkout amounts, even when the product itself allows $0.
Pay What You Want is not available for subscriptions or upgrades. If the product has variants, their prices must be relative adjustments rather than separate full prices. Those adjustments are added to the shopper's chosen amount, which is useful for optional extras without taking away the shopper's control over the base price.
